Hello everybody!

I have just received the mail from La Finestra that the NA approved the contract, for me it means: big relief and joy!

Now I can breath normally again and start to prepare myself for that project, which means: learning Italian step by step and preparing the last thing...paperwork. So I am really happy to get such an opportunity at La Finestra and I am really looking forward to it, I can´t wait for October to come!!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, I suppose my head is so spinning around that I must have forgot something important to say here. Well, I will catch up in the next few days!

Ciao!

Sono Eva, ho ventidue anni e vengo di Belgio. Abito a Leuven, una città vicino a Bruxelles.

I will write the rest of this first blog in English, because my Italian is not advanced enough yet.

In June, I graduated in English and Dutch Literature and Language in Leuven (my hometown). I've wanted to go abroad and do volunteering after I graduated for a long time and that's why I got interested in doing an EVS in Europe. I will begin my EVS project at CESVOV in october if we get the final approval. (hopefully we'll get the approval soon)

When the project will be approved, I will be working as a volunteer for CESVOV for 9 months. I am really looking forward to my departure and I am very curious about every new thing I will learn and discover during those 9 months (starting with the Italian language...) In the meantime, I am going to spend a few weeks in Rome to learn Italian at a language school so that I will be able to communicate in Italian when the project starts in two and a half months.

Che bella è l'estate!! Per me l’estate è un sinonimo di vacanze. E’ bello fare quasi niente quando fa bello caldo, c’è il sole caldissimo e chiarissimo, c’è la gente bella tranquilla e ci sono i ferie.

In giugno sono andata in Sardegna a Cagliari e sono innamorata! Onestamente io posso dire che Sardegna è bellissima!Tutti dovete per una volta andare di là!! Direi è un paradiso in Europa dove la vita va tranquillamente. Le spiagge sono stupende con la sabbia bianca e l’acqua incredibilmente azzurro! Quando sei là non vuoi fare niente l’altro solo prendere il sole sulla spiaggia e fare il bagno quando fa troppo caldo!

E la gente della Sardegna..! I sardi sono molto aperti, parlano con tutti e raccontano tutto. Veramente tutto, anche le cose che non vuoi sapere. Ma loro sono così! Dopo essere in Lombardia per 10 mesi sono stata stupita che i sardi non giudicano, ma accettano tutte le persone come sono. Amo la semplicità delle persone!

Che brutta è l'estate dopo le vacanze! Sei svegliata per forza nel mattino del week end perché tutti i vicini possibili stanno tagliando l’erba.. Ma va! E’ un peccato a lavorare durante la Domenica ..

Ho imparato:

1. Che cosa è una caldaia, come si usa, perche si usa, che cosa non si toca, vantaggio e svantaggio.

2. Come è una vechia spina elettrica in Italia.

3. Guardare sempre prima di attravesare la strada davanti di una machina.

4. Che cosa è il freddo vero, così come che cosa è veramente l´inverno.

5. Parolacie….hehe

 Mi chiamo Patricia e sono la nuova volontaria di AVIS Varese, sono arrivata a Varese il 18 gennaio devo dire che un giorno di nebbia…prima ho pensato che questo è una città fantasma.

Il mi primo giorno come volontaria mi lo ricordo con tanttissima curiosittà, perchè per me questa è la prima volta in Italia. Un po´ di paura, emozione e sopratutto molta felicità.

Devo dire che non sono abbituata a questo freddo e che quando sono arrivata a Varese dalla isola la tempreratura era di 25 gradi…questo per me è una vera esperienza SVE.

Questo è una piccola presentazione … e nel prossimo capitolo raconterò la mia esperienza in AVIS Varese…

Buongiorno! Ooops ..non ho scritto il blog per così tanto tempo, quindi ho comportarmi .. Che cosa ho fatto durante il questo tempo? Beh .. la cosa più importante è che ho cambiato un po’ il mio progetto di SVE. Quindi adesso due volte alla settimana sono volontaria al Centro Diurno Integrato per gli anziani a Malnate. E… mi piace moltissimo … normalmente ho bisogno di tanti emozioni e in CDI io posso sentirle.. io posso scambiare i caldi baci di saluto, gli caldi abbracci, posso vedere i caldi sorrisi! Uno piccolo problema naturalmente è la mia impazienza chi è il ruolo principale mentre gli attività nel CDI, ma soprattutto ci sono tante piccole belle cose in CDI e tutte le insieme danno il colore della mia giornata! L'altra novità è il progetto Radio Web per il gruppo di SOS Junior. Sono contenta di fare qualcosa di nuovo e di lavorare con le persone nuove. Penso che progetto Radio Web sarà una bella esperienza per me e per i ragazzi.. E grazie a tutti di SOS Malnate. Tutti sono i migliorissimi!!! E cara Chiaretta – ti ringrazio per la tua pazienza! La lingua italiana? Ho paura che sto parlando in mio modo d'italiano..un modo molto strano..:) Devo imparare di più! Baaaaaasta con la pigrizia! Altrimenti mi ho trasformato in un “party animal” – ogni week end c’è una festa.. Oh, mamma mia! Tantissimi saluti a tutti! ciaooo

I came here with rather small knowledge about italian mentality. Yes I used to travel here couple of times but this is completely different thing than live here, learn and undertake active project in italian society. I come from central-eastern Europe so my view of normal behaviour differs much from here. I am more closed and need time to feel calm and more open. Of course I am talking in general but we are more analyzing types of personalities and we don't trust so quickly. The other thing is closeness, usually we need more space talking to someone, we don;t touch people during chat. Of course I have known that here will be completely different but of course knowledge is a different thing than practice. I need some time to open myself. In my country there is lots of stereotypes connected with italian mentality and atributes. Generally speaking stereotypes are harmful for each nation but there is always some percentage of truth in everything because this is not a lie that lots of polish people overdose alcohol and we can't fight with this:) the same situation italians will always be for us "pasta people" with too much gel on their hair. One of well-known italian „feature” are their artistic skills, specifically drama skills. Italians are great actors, maybe because they are more able to show their emotions, are more dynamic, and more expresive. Ironically they are known as great actors in each life issue. I can observe that in the televison where popular shows are funny, faked mascarades, in normal life during normal arguments and mostly on the football pitch. Italians are popular football actors and each football is like tremendous drama spectacle. In Poland we are alsways laughing how italians are pretending that something hurts them. But it has its own climate. In the beginning I was analyzing everything I saw here. At a first sight some behaviours were quite shallow for me. Too much of kindness and everything was „tutto bene” even though it wasn’t in reality. I was a little bit irritated about it cause in my tradition it is better to use some euphemisms like „everything is like it used to be”, „there are no changes is my life”, or that is rather bad and of course it affacts our eastern mentallity, more melancholic type. I got used to kindness and what at the beginning I called shallow I transfered it cause it makes italians more optimistic. The thing I haven’t still changed opinion about is that italians are estets and quite snobish about it. This is the thing I can understand because this is a country with the most beatiful architecture, artistic heritage. The most popular fashion companies were born here. People pay lots of attention on their look and to look trendy. It is nice to observe beatiful people who presents like butterflies in somtimes grey reality. Italy is breathtaking even though the weather is not apropriate. It will always be in other countries the land of mafia, luxury , pasta and Toto Cotugno but it is so various in each area that I can’t generalize. Allora, grazie per attenzione. Ciao
