Hello everyone
I just came back from the Pre-Departure Training and I have to say that it was terrific! I met a lot of great, funny, nice and friendly people there. We were so different on the one hand but on the other hand we had so many goals in common. However I can´t wait to start at La Finestra. I talked to a lot of people who have a similar project as I do, now I am very looking forward to start. The last preparations have to be done soon.
A few things about the Pre-Departure Training though: Many young students might have thought that such a seminar wouldn´t be necessary, but they are wrong. It is necessary because it is about putting many poeple together who don´t know each other to make them get to know each other. You have to learn how to get along with people you don´t know. It is a very important step in this programm. On top of that you have the chance to make new contacts in your life. Practically I have to admit that both my sending organization CVJm Blaustein e.V. and my hosting organization La Finestra prepared me perfectly that I hardly had some missing information.
So, this is a big THANK YOU for both of you! Best Wishes from me Nani
Hello again,
last time I was so excited that I totally forgot to give you some information about me :) I am sorry for that.
My name is Nani, I am lucky for that nickname as my original name is so difficult to pronounce..., and I was born in Germany nearly 19 years ago :) My parents are both from Vietnam, they came to Germany to escape their duty joining the army for another year (one year was enough and a tough life experience). 2000 my brother was born and I was responsible for him rigth away. Now he is older and I can leave him into my mother´s care as I know that he is strong-willed and not easy to be knocked down.
This year I finally finished school and I passed through the A-Levels. Next week I am joining the Assessment Day of the university I have been applying for and I really hope that they offer me a study place. I want to study Logisticmanagement and everything has to be settled now because Germany´s bureaucracy is hard to deal with if not...
My decision of applying for EVS really came from the heart. I want to take year off to commit myself to such a project and learn something for life, I´ve started to like Italy since I got to know the parents of one of my class mate, they were so kind, warm, nice and happy. Another reason I got interested in Italy was the school subject Latin, which I had to learn since class 6. It taught me a lot about the Ancient and Roman life and philosophy, which actually caused the idea of the European Nation as well. The knowledge about Ancient Philosophy has been helping me a lot of times in my life and that´s why I want to get to know the country live as well as the people living there and their culture, I want to see more about the world and learn how it is to be an active citizen of Europe.
I like to thank La Finestra for giving me that opportunity and I won´t disappoint you- well, I hope not to disappoint you ;)
Best Wishes from Halle, Germany
Yours
Nani
Hello everybody!
I have just received the mail from La Finestra that the NA approved the contract, for me it means: big relief and joy!
Now I can breath normally again and start to prepare myself for that project, which means: learning Italian step by step and preparing the last thing...paperwork. So I am really happy to get such an opportunity at La Finestra and I am really looking forward to it, I can´t wait for October to come!!
If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, I suppose my head is so spinning around that I must have forgot something important to say here. Well, I will catch up in the next few days!
Best Greets from Halle, Germany!!
Yours
Nani
